Tech corporations have been touting self-driving automobiles as the way forward for transportation for over a decade now. Companies like Cruise, Waymo, and Zoox all have energetic applications testing their autonomous automobiles in US cities like San Francisco, Phoenix, and Austin. Their automobiles have run infinite loops round city to coach their algorithms, zipping alongside metropolis streets—and sometimes blocking them. While the tech has clearly gotten higher and Waymo and Cruise now have permission to function totally autonomously in California, the computer-powered taxis have additionally pushed up some controversy with native governments, security officers, metropolis residents, and drivers.
